
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 28: The Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today inaugurated Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament District Round selections at Andaman Law College on a grand note. Participating as a Chief Guest Bishnu Pada Ray appealed the youth to be vibrant, vigilant and vikasit in their endeavours. He declared the elocution competition open in presence of hundreds of students gathered from various colleges of the town. Before that he lit the ceremonial lamp along with the student representatives of various colleges of the town. In his address he appealed to the students to show their mettle and bring laurels to the A & N Islands.
Principal Dr P.V.N.Sarma presided over the meeting/ In his opening remarks he thanked the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the MyBharat for giving an opportunity to conduct this prestigious competition for 2026 also. Last year, Andaman Law College successfully conducted the same event, bringing glory to the islands at the national level, he said. The very program is intended to know the pulse of the youth in the matters of social responsibility. This year theme for elocution is very relevant i.e. 50 years of Emergency and the Lessons for Democracy’,
Joint Director MY Bharat Mr Sukha Ranjan Biswas in his address urged the youth to be the change-makers for national growth and development with their responsible behavior, leadership qualities and innovative ideas. Viksit Bharat is possible through youth and youth only, he stressed. Members of the jury are R.V.R. Murthy, R.G.S. Baghel, Vishal Yadav and Sanjib Kumar Roy, Editor, Andaman Sheekha Daily. The jury adjudicated the performance of participants on various parameters. NSS Programme Officer Dr Rajiv Mondal coordinated the event and competitions. Law College students Manisha and Visakha anchored the event.
