Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 18: CRC A&N Islands Celebrates Children’s Day with Enthusiasm and Inclusive Participation
The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) A&N Islands organized its Children’s Day Celebration today at the CRC campus, featuring cultural performances, talent showcases, and interactive activities by children with disabilities.
The programme was honoured by the presence of Dr. Aman Gupta, IAS, Secretary (Finance, Planning, Forest & Environment, Housing), A&N Administration as Chief Guest, Dr. K. Chandra Sekhar, President, Andaman & Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ANCCI) as guest of honor. Mr. M.Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) as special guest and sponsor of this programme.
The celebration commenced with the traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony, followed by the felicitation of dignitaries. In her Welcome Address, Mrs. Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands, emphasized CRC’s commitment to fostering early intervention, rehabilitation support, and holistic development of children with disabilities. She appreciated the participation of parents, teachers, and community partners in strengthening inclusive practices across the Islands.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Aman Gupta, IAS, Secretary commended CRC’s efforts in empowering Divyangjan and highlighted the Administration’s continued support for expanding rehabilitation services and inclusive education initiatives in the Union Territory.
Guest of Honor Dr. K. Chandra Sekhar reiterated the industry’s role in supporting social welfare initiatives and assured sustained collaboration with CRC developmental programmes.
Special Guest Mr. Vinod, President of AATO and sponsor of the event, expressed appreciation for CRC’s work and reaffirmed AATO’s commitment to supporting activities benefiting children with disabilities.
The cultural segment featured dance performances, group singing, storytelling, speeches, and a vibrant Talent Show by CRC children, receiving broad appreciation from guests and parents. Gifts were distributed to all participating children by the dignitaries.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. T.Y.Abid, Lect. Physiotherapy, CRC A&N Islands expresses gratitude to AATO for sponsoring the celebration and to ANCCI for its continued support toward the empowerment of Divyangjan in the Islands Islands.
