
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 14: The Electoral Literacy Club of Andaman Law College organized an awareness session on “Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the Electoral Process” in its auditorium on Friday. While presiding over the session, Principal Dr. P.V.N. Sarma urged the students to actively involve the making SIR a grand success. The crux of democracy is elections, and the electoral list stands as a basis. Hence, it is the duty of all active citizenry to ensure the voter list is up-to-date and error-free. The resource person, Mr. Sentil Kumar, a master trainer, emphasized various aspects relating to SIR and he finally clarified the doubts about participating students. The Nodal Officer, Dr. N. Bala Krishnan, in his address explained the flagship program of ECI, popularly known as SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation). It is the duty of the youth to enroll in the voters list by submitting Form 6, and they should facilitate other members of their family, neighborhood, and vicinity of their locality. As many as one hundred students participated in the session. Students actively engaged in the session, and their doubts were well clarified by the resource person. Director of Physical Education Dr. Rajiv Mondal also spoke. Assistant Prof. of Political Science Dr. Loganadham proposed a vote of thanks.
