Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 09: Ummat Public Schools joyfully celebrated Urdu Day on 7th November 2025 at both Middle Point and Austinabad Schools to honor the rich heritage of the Urdu language and mark the birth anniversary of the great philosopher and poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The event sought to nurture a love for the Urdu language while promoting cultural harmony, creativity, and inclusivity among students.
The celebration took place at two levels: the Primary Level (Classes 3 to 5) and the Secondary Level (Classes 6 to 8). Students from both schools participated enthusiastically in a thoughtful curated set of activities that celebrated linguistic expression, artistic talent, and cultural diversity.
The first segment of the programme included Urdu speeches and poetic recitations (Urdu sher presentations), through which students beautifully conveyed their admiration for Urdu’s richness and elegance. Their expressive performances reflected deep appreciation for Urdu’s literary and philosophical heritage.
Adding to the celebration, a Calligraphy Competition was held in both Urdu and Tamil languages, emphasizing the school’s commitment to multicultural respect and linguistic appreciation. Students displayed remarkable skill and creativity through their artistic calligraphy, showcasing not only their talent but also the harmony between linguistic art forms.
To encourage and recognize student excellence, winners from each category were felicitated with certificates of appreciation.
