Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 07: Shri. Subajit Basu, Special Judge (POCSO) Act 2012, N & M Andaman District, Mayabunder has sentenced accused Sanjeeb Das, R/o Madhupur, under Diglipur police Station on 07/11/2025 for committing rape on a minor girl of 17 year old in connection with the Crime No. 64 of 2023, dated 15/7/2023of Police Station Diglipur.
In open court Hon’ble Special Judge (POCSO), Mayabunder sentenced U/s 235(2) of Cr. P.C. to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 20 years with the fine of Rs.60,000/- and in default of payment of fine amount to undergo simple imprisonment for term of $06$ months for the offence punishable section of 6 of POCSO Act 2012. If convict fails to deposit the fine amount the sentence of imprisonment will run on after another.

The investigation of the case done by Sub-Inspector Deepti Minj under the leadership of Inspector K. Binoj, S.H.O. P.S. Diglipur and under supervision of SDPO Diglipur and Superintendent of Police (D) N&M Andaman and thereafter receiving the DNA report from Central Forensic Service Laboratory, Directorate of Forensic Sciences Services, Hyderabad the further investigation completed by Sub-Inspector Kannagi under the leadership of Inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Diglipur and the prosecution case is conducted by Ld. Special Public Prosecutor Adv. Keshab Chandra Mondal.
In a nut-shell is that the convict Sanjeeb Das is neighbor of the victim girl and one day in the year of 2023 during the day time at around 01 o’clock when no one was present at the resident of the convict he called the victim girl to his resident, so the victim girl went to the house of convict being the neighbor and elderly good relationship at that time convict forcefully raped the victim girl on being repeated refused by her, a communication received here from Ld.
