Port Blair, May 06: A delegation of the Andaman Sarvajanik Nirman Vibhag Mazdoor Singh (CITU) led by its President Mr. B. Chandrachoodan, met the Chief Engineer, APWD on 03rd May, 2013 and discussed with him various pending issues concerning the employees and workers of Andaman Public Works Department. The issues discussed in the meeting were filling up of vacnt posts; Compassionate appointments; regularization of Daily Rated Mazdoors; extending the benefit of 1/30th of plus DA at the minimum of the scale scheme and amendment of Recruitment Rules to enable the employees to get speedy promotion, etc.
The Chief Engineering has assured the delegation that immediate steps will be taken necessary action on the issues raised by the Union. The other members of the delegation were Mr. Bhoominathan, Mr. Dhaniah and Mr. Kalidas.
