Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 03: Aliya Majeed, a student of the IV year BALLB of Andaman Law College, represented the A & N Islands at National Unity Day celebrations at Parliament Bhavan in New Delhi on 31st October to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. She is one among 36 youth selected from all the states and UTs of India. Aliya Majeed got this opportunity based on her score in the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament state rounds held in the month of March. Only 12 were chosen to speak about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in this august session, and she is one among them, based on the screenings of recorded videos submitted by 36 youth participants.
Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, and Honourable Vice President of India, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, graced the meeting with their presence, and they interacted with the participants.
In his address, Shri Om Birla described Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as “the architect of national unity and integrity,” emphasizing that his vision and sacrifices laid the foundation for a united India. He lauded the participating youth for embodying the ideals of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’ Principal Dr. P.V. Nagendra Sarma and Joint Director MyBharat Mr. Sukharanjan Biswas complimented Ajiya Majeed.
