On the occasion of the Foundation Day of the States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and the Union Territories of Chandigarh, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry today, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all residents from these States and UTs living in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
These States and Union Territories have each contributed significantly to the rich tapestry of India’s unity in diversity. As we celebrate this day, we honor their remarkable achievements across culture, agriculture, industry, innovation, and governance.
Andhra Pradesh is renowned for its cultural heritage and artistic excellence; Chhattisgarh, endowed with abundant natural resources, is emerging as a strong industrial hub. Haryana leads in agriculture, sports, and modern development, while Karnataka shines as a center of knowledge and technological innovation. Kerala, with its scenic beauty and vibrant traditions, truly embodies “God’s Own Country.” Madhya Pradesh, the “Heart of India,” reflects historical grandeur and cultural diversity. Punjab, the land of rivers, played a pivotal role in the Green Revolution and continues to inspire through its spirit of resilience and hard work. Tamil Nadu, with its glorious Dravidian legacy, is a cradle of ancient art, architecture, and culture.
Delhi, the National Capital Territory, formed in 1956, stands as the political and cultural heart of India, reflecting the nation’s enduring spirit across millennia. Chandigarh, established in 1966, is globally celebrated as the ‘City Beautiful’, a modern architectural marvel and a symbol of shared administrative pride for the northern states. Lakshadweep, also formed in 1956, is a serene archipelago of coral atolls, embodying the pristine maritime beauty of India. Puducherry, officially transferred in 1954, retains its unique charm as the ‘French Riviera of the East/ showcasing a vibrant fusion of French colonial heritage and South Indian culture.
Each of these regions, with their unique identities and achievements, exemplifies the strength of unity in diversity — the very essence of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. On this auspicious occasion, let us celebrate the shared bonds that unite us and reaffirm our commitment to national integration, progress, and harmony.
I extend my heartfelt greetings to all residents from these States and UTs in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. May this Foundation Day inspire pride in our collective heritage and strengthen our resolve to work together towards realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
