Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 31: On 30/10/2025 A training programme on “Composite Fish Farming” was conducted by the Fisheries Sub-Station, Billiground in association with the ATMA team under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) initiative. The training was held at the field of Mr. Joytish Howlader, Ward No. 6, Harinagar, in the presence of Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar and Mrs. Bitika Chakraborty Ward member The objective of the programme was to enhance the knowledge and skills of local fish farmers on composite fish farming practices, focusing on the scientific management of multiple fish species in a single pond ecosystem. Participants were educated on key aspects such as pond preparation, species selection (Rohu, Catla, Mrigal, and Common Carp), stocking density, feed management, and disease control. The programme also included hands-on demonstrations on water pH testing, dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement, and other interactive sessions to promote practical understanding. Altogether, 20 local fish farmers, including both men and women, actively participated in the training programme.
