Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 26: The general public and tourists have been informed that advisories have been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department about the formation of a low pressure area over North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas and its likely intensification into a Cyclonic storm in the Bay. In view of inclement weather conditions, keeping in view the safety of the passengers and vessels, the Directorate of Shipping Services may be forced to suspend or cancel Inter-Island/Foreshore Sector vessels at very short notice.
Similarly, the operation of Harbour/Vehicle ferry services between Chatham, Bambooflat, Dundas Point, Hopetown, Phoenix Bay, and at outstations may also face disruption or suspension with short notice, depending on weather conditions.
