
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 26: A consultation meeting with the team of consultant namely M/s Radiant Consultant, Kolkata engaged by the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) for the preparation and execution of new rural road projects under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) -IV was successfully held today at Atal Bhawan, Port Blair.
The meeting was chaired by Mr, Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman (ZPSA), and attended by Member of Parliament Mr, Bishnu Pada Ray, Mr, Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, I.A.S, Chief Executive Officer, ZPSA, Mr, Boominathan, Up-Adhyaksh, ZPSA, Mr, U.K Singh, SE(PRI), senior technical officers of APWD, and a large number of Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, both in person and through virtual conferencing.
During the meeting, the Consultant presented the technical designs, and implementation strategy for the upcoming rural road projects aimed at improving connectivity and infrastructure in remote areas. Detailed deliberations were held on the feasibility, prioritization, and community benefits of the proposed works.
The Adhyaksh, ZPSA, in his address, emphasized the importance of timely execution and quality control in the construction of rural roads to ensure durable and sustainable connectivity for the island communities. The Hon’ble Member of Parliament also highlighted the significance of PMGSY-IV in strengthening rural infrastructure and enabling socio-economic growth.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with valuable inputs and suggestions from PRI members and officials being taken into consideration for finalization of the project proposals.
