Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 24: The Department of AH&VS in collaboration with the Union Territory Agricultural Technology Management Agency (UT ATMA), concluded a six-week ‘Farm School on Broiler Production’ training program on Oct. 17 at Govind Nagar village, Great Nicobar Island. The program, which commenced on Sept. 12 and was conducted every Friday, aimed to enhance broiler production skills for improved livestock productivity and farmer livelihoods.
The training was hosted at the farm of Shri Abhijit Mandal, son of Supada Mandal, a beneficiary farmer from Govind Nagar. The program focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge in broiler management, including feeding, housing, disease control, and market-oriented production techniques. Through hands-on sessions, participants gained insights into modern poultry farming practices to boost efficiency and income generation.
The active participation of farmers underscored their commitment to adopting advanced broiler production methods. The training emphasized sustainable practices tailored to the unique conditions of Great Nicobar, enabling farmers to contribute to local food security and economic development.
