
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 22: In a momentous ceremony organized by the Gau Seva Parishad, A&N Islands today, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Andaman Nicobar Administration, formally inaugurated the Annapurna Gaushala by unveiling the Cornerstone. This marked a significant step towards the welfare and conservation of the homeless cows and bovine. The construction of first phase of Gaushala was completed by the Gau Seva Parishad in the land set a part for Gaushala at Calicut Gram Panchayat by the District Administration.
The inauguration ceremony of Annapurna Gaushala witnessed the esteemed presence of Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Andaman Nicobar Administration, Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director IP&T, Andaman Nicobar Administration, Swami Sudhananda Saraswati, Acharaya Chinmaya Mission, Shri Surendra Pralakaha, President, Gau Seva Parishad, Shri T. Yeghambaram Pradhan, Calicut Gram Panchayat alongwith other diginitaries and well wishers.
Following the Inauguration, the Chief Secretary inspected the Gaushala premises.
The inaugural stage function programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary Andaman Nicobar Administration and other distinguished guests . The members of Gau Seva Parishad honored the Chief Guest and Special Guests of the Occasion.
The President, Gau Seva Parishad, Shri. Surendra Prahladak delivered the welcome address which was followed by a video presentation by the Gau Seva Parishad highlighting the journey Gaushala’s construction and its significance to the cows and bovines of this Islands.
Addressing the gathering after the video presentation, Chief Secretary, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, commended the excellent work done in the construction of the Gaushala. He stressed the importance of undertaking similar initiatives in other islands of the archipelago for wider cow conservation. The Chief Secretary further assured the full cooperation and support of the Administration for such endeavors.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Shri. T. Yeghambaram Pradhan ,Calicut Gram Panchayat.
