
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 13: On 13th October, 2025, the Block Project Office, Samagra Shiksha, Diglipur observed World Mental Health Day 2025 by organizing an Awareness Programme at the Learning Teaching Materials (LTM) Library for Children with Special Needs (CwSN), Diglipur, North Andaman.
The programme aimed to promote mental health awareness among parents, teachers, and children with special needs and to highlight the importance of emotional well-being in inclusive education. The event aimed to create awareness among parents, teachers, students. A total of 32 participants actively took part in the event; The programme included four Key Sessions.
Smt. Sulochana, Block Project Officer, Samagra Shiksha, Diglipur, graced the event and addressed the participants briefly on the importance of mental health awareness.
• The event witnessed active participation from Dr. C.M. Shaheen, GDMO (Homeopathy), CHC Diglipur, who sensitized parents, teachers, and students on the need to maintain good mental health and positive thinking.
• Smt. Seema Broma, Health Educator, CHC Diglipur, also shared valuable guidance on emotional balance and health awareness.
• Smt. S. Vijaya, Resource Room In-Charge, conducted a session on “Role of LTM Library in Promoting Mental Health for CwSN” and gave a demonstration of the Learning and Teaching Materials available in the LTM Library. She explained how these materials help improve attention span, concentration, and emotional development in children with special needs.
• Mr. Manoj Kumar Haldar, PET (GSSS Diglipur), conducted a guided meditation session, in which parents, teachers, the Block Project Officer, the Medical Officer, and other participants actively took part. The session focused on relaxation, mindfulness, and mental calmness.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion in which parents shared their concerns and received expert suggestions and ideas from the health team on handling children with patience and empathy.
The event showcased the collaborative efforts of Samagra Shiksha and the Health Department towards promoting inclusive mental well-being.
