
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 06: Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) along with Blood Centre, G. B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, supported MI Room, 15FBSU, AF, Chakkargaon and Chief Engineer’s Office, APWD, Sri Vijaya Puram to organize a blood donation camp at their premises on 03rd Oct. 2025 to commemorate the 93rd Air force Day Celebration, while the camp at Chief Engineer’s Office, APWD was organized on 06th Oct. 2025 on the occasion of 68th Raising Day. Altogether, a total of 30 units of blood from MI Room, 15FBSU, AF and 34 units of blood from Chief Engineer’s Office, APWD were donated by the voluntary donors.
The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A & N Islands.
The Blood Donation camp was facilitated by Dr. D Divya, Junior Resident, ANIIMS, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram. The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and briefed the donors on various aspects and importance of blood donation.
Mrs. Swati Gaur, Sqn. Ldr, Senior Medical Officer, MI Room, 15FBSU, AF and Mr. M. Melsingh Salvious, Associate Town & Country Planner, APWD, Sri Vijaya Puram, A & N Islands respectively, organized the camp and made arrangement for conducting the camp successfully.
The technical team from Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for blood transmissible diseases. They also examined the donors for eligibility criteria.
Donor certificates were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
