
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 01: On the occasion of “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day” 2025, A & N AIDS Control Society organized a blood donation camp in association with Mukhyalaya, Tatrakshak Kshetra, Headquarters Coast Guard Region (A & N), Sri Vijaya Puram on 01st October, 2025 at Coast Guard Spectrum Complex. Several voluntary donors came forward to donate blood, contributing to the noble cause and marking the significance of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2025.
The “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day “ was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, DIG Mr. Shailesh Rajan CSO (Tech).He was joined by DIG Apoova R Bhatt CSO (P&A). All together total 42 units of blood were donated by the voluntary donors.
The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A & N Islands.
The Blood Donation camp was facilitated by Dr. Divya, Junior Resident, ANIIMS, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram. The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and briefed the donors on various aspect and importance of blood donation.
Mr. T Santosh, Surg. Lt Cdr, Regional Medical Officer, for Commander, Coast Guard Region (A & N) organized the camp and made arrangement for conducting the camp successfully.
The technical team from Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for the blood transmissible diseases. They also examined the donors for eligibility criteria.
Donors certificate were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
