Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 28: A hoax bomb threat email today caused a major security alert at Veer Savarkar International Airport (VSI). Upon receiving the threat, CISF and local security agencies immediately activated standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conducted thorough searches across the airport premises.
Officials confirmed that no suspicious items were found during the checks. Preliminary investigations suggest that the email was sent by anti-national elements aiming to create panic and disrupt normal operations.
After completing the security sweep, the threat was confirmed to be fake.
Sources revealed that similar fake threat emails were sent to nearly 28 airports across the country, including Jammu Airport and VSI airport, Sri Vijaya Puram.
