Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 26: Along with the rest of the country, the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan has begun in A & N Islands since Sep 25, i.e. from the birth anniversary date of Mr. Deendayal Upadhyay, ideological mentor of Bharatiya Janata Party. This program will continue for three months and will end on 25th of December 2025. To inform the details of the Abhiyan a Press Conference was organized at BJP office, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram today at 11:00 AM.
Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President, BJP, A & N Islands addressing the Press people spoke on the achievements of Modi government under Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. He gave a detailed account of the developmental activities undertaken by the Modi government and compared that with the 10- year Congress regime which carried black mark for numerous scams under various ministries. He added that the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan was started during the government led by Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1999 by conducting nuclear tests to show the might of India. Similarly, various other initiatives and schemes to take forward the Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme was started during the same government. But when the Manmohan Singh government came to power all the initiatives taken by Vajpayee government was put into cold storage. Again, when the Modi government came to power all the previous initiatives and many more new initiatives were launched by Modi government with vision and determination to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047. Mr. Tiwari also spoke on how the Great Nicobar Island project costing Rs.72,000 Crores is going to benefit both the Islands and the country as a whole. He slammed the Congress leadership, particularly Mrs. Sonia Gandhi for her negative propaganda and for the actions being taken to derail the project.
Mr. K. Ram Das, State Vice President, BJP and coordinator of Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, presented a detailed roadmap of various programs which are to be organized during the next three months in the Island. He further informed the Press People about the various programs which are to be organized in the Islands. The main programs will include “Ghar Ghar Sampark” abhiyan to educate and motivate people to adopt only Indian made products and discard foreign products. He also informed that a Traders Conference, Mahila and Women Conference, College level competitions and motivation programs among other programs will be held during the three-months abhiyan.
Earlier, Mr. S.P.Ellango, State Media Convenor and Co- Coordinator of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan welcomed the Media persons and gave a brief account of the objectives behind the launch of the abhiyan.
