Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 25: As part of the ongoing efforts to boost the cultivation of Spice Crops, a plantation drive under the Spice Pravah 2.0 initiative was successfully carried out at three departmental farms (Coffee Farm, Panchawati, Multi-Purpose Farm, Panchawati and Spices Demonstration Farm, Adazig of Rangat one on 24/09/2025. The Assistant Commissioner, Rangat Mr. Vikash Kumar, DANICS, Mrs. Sita Majhi, Pramukh, Rangat, Mr. R.Madhavan, Up Adyaksh N&M Andaman and Mr. Venkateswar Rao, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram and departmental officials, led the plantation drive by planting the first set of saplings of Cinnamon and Black Pepper, marking a significant step towards promoting the Spice cultivation in the zone. Similar programme was also carried out by ceremonial planting of cinnamon saplings by Mr. Vijay Mondal, Up Pramukh, Mrs. Sarala Krishnan, Pradhan Sundergarh, Mrs. Olga Minj, PRI Member along with the officials of Police and Agriculture department in the Spices Demonstration Farm, Adazig.
Event concluded by planting 90 nos Black Pepper rooted cutting and 170 nos Cinnamon seedlings which is an ongoing initiative for sustainable development Agriculture Sector.
