Mayabunder, Sept. 22: Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Ms. Nandini Maharaj, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman in association with the National Informatics Centre, Kendriya Sadan, Sri Vijaya Puram, a one day training programme on Cyber Security was conducted today.
The Assistant Commissioner/Nodal Officer (IT), North and Middle Andaman, Shri S Krishna Chaitanya was the chief guest of the training programme who inaugurated the training program and explained the importance of cyber security awareness in today’s digital world. He also emphasized that the cyber security training is most important for all Govt. Officials as all should know how to secure the Govt. data and information from cyber threats and viruses.
Shri Sendil Kumar, Joint Director (IT), NIC, Sri Vijaya Puram and Shri Devashish Kumar Das, Deputy Director (IT), NIC, Sri Vijaya Puram were the resource person of the training. They briefed all participants about cyber security recognizing potential cyber threats and implementing strategies to protect oneself and one’s organization from malicious attacks. It encompasses understanding how to recognize phishing attempts, the importance of strong passwords, and the significance of safe online practices. They also discussed how AI can be misused by cyber criminals to launch more sophisticated attacks like deep fakes and automated phishing schemes. About 50 Govt. officials from various Departments of North and Middle Andaman attended the training and appreciated the content and relevance in today’s world. The training ended with vote of thanks by Smt. Babita Devi, Assistant Manager (IT), O/o Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman.
