
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 21: An informative & legal awareness camp was organised by the Elder Helpline 14567 in collaboration with an NGO, namely Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi on 20th September 2025 for the general public at MazarPahad Community Hall.
The said camp was divided in four sessions. The target group of the camp were Children, Women & Senior Citizens. In the first session Mrs. Ankita Saha, Protection Officer from District Child Protection unit had delivered a speech on “Ill effects of Substance and roll of parents in motivating children”. In the second session of the camp Advocate Suparna Biswas, highlighted the importance of Women Empowerment & also elaborated few acts specifically for protection of women such as “Child Marriage Restrain act 2006”, “Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005”, “Dowry Prohibition Act 1961, Protection of Women from Sexual Harrashment at workplace” etc.
While Mrs. Sushma Pandey Helpline Manger of Elder Helpline had delivered a speech on the importance of govt run schemes like “Elder helpline” and also about other schemes such as “Child Helpline”, “Women Helpline”.
Mr. Mandeep Grewal Founder & President of the “Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi” had presented his views regarding “Roll of an NGO in shaping a society”. It was followed by an interesting interactive session between the general public and the resource person. The whole program was co-ordinated by Mr Sameem, elder helpline staff.
Ward Councillor of ward no 11 Mr. Sanjay Reddy, Ward Councilor, Angan wadi workers, ICDS staffs and huge number of general public were present for the said program.
