Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 18: The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a UT Plan scheme namely ‘Assistance for purchase of Life Saving Appliances/Fire Fighting Appliances/ Navigational equipment (GPS, VHF, DAT etc.)’.
In this regard, applications have been invited from the bonafide fisherman/Tribes residing in the municipal and tribal fishing areas of A&N Islands for purchase of life saving appliances/fire-fighting appliances/ navigational equipment (GPS, VHF, DAT etc.) under the UT Plan scheme of the Department during the year 2025-26.
Pattern of assistance
50% subsidy for general fishermen and 75% subsidy for tribal fishers having non-motorized, motorized and mechanized fishing boats on purchase of life saving/ fire-fighting appliances including navigational GPS and VHF.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant should be a bonafide fisherman/tribe of A&N Islands possessing registered non-motorized / motorized / mechanized fishing craft and holding a valid fishing license for two consecutive years including the current year.
The application form and the detailed guidelines of the UT Plan subsidy programme can be obtained from the Directorate of Fisheries / Zonal Fisheries Offices, nearest Fisheries Sub Stations and also available in the Official website of A&N Administration (http://www.andaman.gov.in/). The applications completed in all respect should reach the nearest Fisheries Zonal Office / Sub Stations on or before Sept. 30.
