Port Blair, Apr 22: Marriage processions, which till now, were constant source of inconvenience to Port Blairians, have now been brought under total control of police department. It has been found that police team is accompanying every marriage procession in city so that no can block roads for dance and bust crackers on public and vehicles.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that the stern action has been taken after a recent clash between people attending two different marriage processions at Goal Ghar, where someone had thrown crackers on a lady.
This stern action of Andaman and Nicobar Police has come as a great relief for people living in Port Blair city.
“We shopkeepers of Bengali Club Complex, used to watch all disorderly behaviour of people in marriage party almost everyday. They used to play music loud and block roads but now situation is under control and we are happy for this,” a businessman of the complex told Andaman Sheekha today.
