Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 24: As part of the ongoing celebrations of the Khel Mohatsav Torch Relay to mark National Sports Day, the second day of the relay in Mayabunder Zone was carried forward with renewed zeal, enthusiasm, and active participation of students, teachers, and community members. The torch commenced its journey today from Karmatang -10 and travelled through several important locations in Mayabunder area. The torch was also ceremoniously taken to the Mayabunder Jetty, where it was displayed on the Coast Guard Ship, showcasing the solidarity of armed and civil institutions in this historic event.
A special highlight of the day was a powerful Nukkad Natak performed by Police personnel near Helipad Junction on “Drug Abuse”, organized on the initiative of Police Department. The day’s relay concluded at GPS Paloon, the last institution under Mayabunder Educational Zone, marking the successful coverage of every corner of the zone.
The ceremonial handover of the torch to Diglipur Zone will take place on 24th August 2025, at Parangara Junction, where a special team from Mayabunder Zone will formally hand it over on behalf of the zone.
