Port Blair, Apr 18: The Port Blair Municipal Council in its endeavor to extend services to the citizens specially the youths has planned to establish health clubs and library in each ward. Continuing its effort a Gymnasium was inaugurated in the Community Hall at Brookshabad by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANCOFED Ltd., on 17/4/2013 at 4.00 p.m. in the presence of Mr. P.B. Murugan, Chairperson and Mr. J. Rajendran, Ward Councillor & Chairperson Water Works Sub Committee, PBMC in a well gathered function.
Mr. M. Arumugam, Sr. Vice Chairperson, Mr. I. P. Singh, Jr. Vice Chairperson, Mr. S. Shanmugavel,Chairperson, WTP&I subcommittee, Smti Jameela Bibi, Chairperson, PH&S sub committee and Mr. G. Chandren, member ar d officers of the Council were also present during the function. Mr. J. Rajendran welcomed the distinguished guests, officers of th-3 Council and the gathering. Mr. P.B. Murugan in his speech spelt out the developmental activities proposed by the Council in wards He said that sports, games & gymnasium are the means to maintain healthy body and mind and he hoped that the facility provided by the Council will be utilized by the youths of the area. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANCOFED Ltd., in his speech appreciated the Council for taking up welfare /recreation activities in addition to the routine work such as Construction of Footpath, roads, sanitation, water supply etc.etc.
