Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 03: A&N Legal Services Authorities in collaboration with PRAYAS NGO, organized Legal Awareness Prog. on ‘POCSO Act and POSH Act’ at Nirmala Sr. Sec. School. The programme was graced by Mr. Rashid Alam, Ld. Registrar, Calcutta High Court Circuit Bench at Port Blair -cum- Member Secretary, A&N SLSA, who explained the mechanisms to address workplace sexual harassment. Mr. Niyaz Alam, Ld. Special Judge, POCSO Court, Port Blair, spoke on child safety, while Mr. Samrat Roy, Ld. Chief judicial Magistrate -cum- Secretary, DLSA, A&N Islands highlighted drug abuse and rehabilitation. Mr. Jayanto Mukherjee, JMFC-II -cum- Principal Magistrate, JJB, South Andaman discussed juvenile justice issues.
Students and teachers actively participated, making the sessions highly interactive and informative. The event concluded with a call to build a safe and aware society for women and children.
