Sri Vijaya Puram, July 27:Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, India’s largest tribal welfare organisation, has been working in Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the past four decades to uplift tribal communities. Operating 84 temples, hostels, women’s groups, and sports centres, the organisation aims to preserve tribal culture and promote unity.
In celebration of the holy Sawan month, the Ashram is organising Kalash Yatras every Monday, echoing the Kanwar Yatra tradition of offering prayers to Lord Shiva. Kalash Yatras have already been held at 8 locations on the first two Mondays.
On the upcoming third Monday (July 28, 2025), grand Yatras will take place in Diglipur, Mayabunder, Bakultala, Baratang, and Sri Vijaya Puram. Devotees are encouraged to join with devotion. For participation, contact local Ashram workers or call 9476099891 / 9474213237.
