Sri Vijaya Puram, July 27: To honour the valour and sacrifice of Indian soldiers, Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated by Mera Yuva Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, at Pranab Kanya Ashram, Delanipur with great enthusiasm. The program aimed to instil patriotism and highlight the importance of responsible citizenship among the citizens of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
On the occasion, Dr. Sagar More, Pediatrician, was the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the strategic and cultural significance of these islands and the responsibility of every individual toward the nation. He stated:
“Being a good citizen is not limited to following rules but also includes respecting others, contributing to society, and standing united for the nation. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands hold a special place in India’s security and heritage, and it is our duty to preserve its integrity.”
Sanyasini Chaitanyanandmayee, Guest of Honor from Pranab Kanya Ashram, delivered an emotional speech paying tribute to the brave soldiers who guard our borders and ensure the security of every citizen. She reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by the armed forces during the Kargil conflict and urged citizens to support the nation in every possible way.
Other dignitaries present included Mr. Gopal Khushalani, AAO, Telecom Department; Mr. Gorakhnath Patil, President, Maharashtra Mandal; along with Bablu Choudhary and Shivani Choudhary, who graced the occasion with their presence.
The program was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman Mahila Mandal. Earlier, Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the relevance of observing Kargil Vijay Diwas in the Islands.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and patriotic slogans, echoing the spirit of “Kargil Vijay Diwas.
