Sri Vijaya Puram, July 27: Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Sri Vijaya Puram, solemnly commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas with reverence and patriotic fervor, honouring the unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil War. The tribute began with a floral wreath laying ceremony by Principal TGCE at the Kargil Martyrs’ Memorial at the College premises, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the eternal flame of their valour.
All the teacher trainees- the future torchbearers of the nation along with the faculty members of the institution led the proceedings one after another, offering heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of Kargil. Adding gravitas to the occasion were Principals from neighbouring schools, retired faculty members, Government officials, and community citizens, who joined hands with the college fraternity to pay homage.
