Rangat, July 15 : A horrifying case of domestic violence has rocked Kaushalya Nagar region in Middle Andaman, where a 29-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked by his own father with a Machete (Dah). The incident took place late in the night on June 14, 2025.
The victim, Ram Dayal Minj, who works as a private employee and resides in the 04 Family area of Kaushalya Nagar, was first taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Rangat with critical injuries to his right hand. Owing to the severity of the wounds, he was later referred to GB Pant Hospital in Sri Vijaya Puram for advanced treatment.
According to sources, Ram Dayal lives with his father, Buddha Minj, who is reportedly addicted to alcohol. On the night of the incident, Buddha Minj allegedly returned home heavily intoxicated and began hurling verbal abuse at his son. Without any warning, he called Ram Dayal closer and suddenly attacked him with a Machete (Dah), inflicting a deep cut on his right hand.
Neighbors, alerted by the screams and chaos, rushed to the scene and immediately arranged for the victim’s transport to CHC Rangat. Prompt medical attention helped stabilize his condition before he was moved to Sri Vijaya Puram for further care.
Rangat Police have registered a case under appropriate sections and arrested Buddha Minj.
