Baratang, July 13: As part of the 76th Van Mahotsava celebrations, the Baratang Forest Division organized a spirited football tournament aimed at encouraging youth participation in nature-related initiatives under the theme “Ek Paudha Maa Ke Naam.”
The event kicked off with an inaugural ceremony graced by Mr. Alagar Swamy, Zilla Parishad Member, who was the chief guest on the occasion. The opening match was held between Forest Fighters – A Team and South Creek Boys. The match ball was officially handed over to the referees, with Mr. Rajesh overseeing the game, assisted by Mr. Mathai and Mr. Sourabh. Mr. Rajan, PET, served as the officiating referee.
Played in a competitive yet friendly spirit, the match witnessed commendable sportsmanship from both sides. South Creek Boys emerged victorious with a 2–0 win against Forest Fighters in the opening encounter.
