Rangat, July 4: The body of a man was found hanging from a plastic rope tied to a pipe on the roof of the Mini Stadium in Rangat Bazaar this morning.
As per initial observations, police suspect it could be a case of suicide, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed. Police were alerted to the scene early in the morning, and a forensic team was also dispatched to assist in the investigation.
The deceased, identified as Mr. Vikas Biswas, 50, was found with a bag near the body containing a mobile phone and other personal items.
According to family sources, Mr. Biswas had not returned home the previous evening. The family had tried to reach him through phone calls late into the night. The discovery at the Mini Stadium was made the following morning.
Sources revealed that Mr. Biswas was last seen around 9:00 PM near the Shiv Mandir in Rangat. A missing person report had already been filed at the local police station the previous day.
Police are currently treating the case as an unnatural death under UD (Unnatural Death) proceedings. Further investigation is underway.
