Sri Vijaya Puram, July 04: A Joint Working Group of Youth was organized by Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) on 04th July 2025. Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officers representing various Colleges/Institutions and Project Coordinator of My Bharat Kendra attended this meeting.
Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS in his keynote address congratulated all the Nodal officers of RRC for conducting HIV awareness through various activities throughout the year successfully. He appreciated the colleges for conducting Blood Donation Camps. Through power point presentation, the RRC activities and programs to be conducted in the financial year 2025-26 were also discussed.
The objective of the meeting is to integrate the National AIDS Control Program (NACP) with the ongoing programs of the College and Institution. Being Stakeholders, it is important to understand that only with joint effort, can help in reducing new HIV infections. Youth, being a vulnerable population, many times engage in risky behaviors which may lead to HIV infection. Through various programs and activities their energy can be diverted towards positive direction, getting correct information on HIV & AIDS and developing leadership qualities.
The meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kandimuthu, Assistant Professor, JNRM.
