Harinagar, June 30: The Department of Agriculture in Association with National Bee Board under National Beekeeping and Honey mission organised 02 days training programme on “Scientific Beekeeping ” in the Panchayat Hall of Harinagar Panchayat on 30/06/25 and 01/07/25.
At the outset, Smti. Shahrun Nisa , Assistant Director (Agri), Mayabunder welcomed the guests and farmers.In her welcome address, she briefed the role of Bee Keeping in terms of agriculture.
Scientifically it is proven that Beekeeping increases the farm production upto 30% and urged the farmers to take maximum benefit from the 02 days training programme on Bee Keeping.
The chief guest Shri. Manojit Halder , Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, thanked the Agriculture Department for arranging such kind of training programme. He requested the farmers to adopt Bee Keeping in their fields for doubling their income.
Shri Dilip Das , Panchayat Samiti Member, Gram Panchayat, Harinagar emphasized that Beekeeping activities not only increases the crop production but other things such as honey, wax, propolis, can also be marketed for income generation. The program was attended by 30 farmers of Harinagar and Basantipur villages.
After the inaugural programme, the technical session dealt with scientific Beekeeping techniques by the Subject Matter Specialist of KVK, Nimbudera.
The topics understanding Bee colonies and its installation and Bee management was dealt in detail by Shri Anup Kumar Mondal , AFA, Billiground.
The Bee Keeping accessories were displayed in the programme for better understanding of the farmers.
Miss Priyadarshini , AA, briefed about The Bee health and disease Management .
On July 1, 2025, a hands-on training session on beekeeping activities will be conducted at Shri. Radhakrishnan Nair’s field in Dharmapur. The training will be led by skilled expert Shri Anup Kumar Mondal , AFA, Billiground.
