Harinagar, June 17: On 17/06/2025, Smti. Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra, DANICS, Director of Fisheries, convened a meeting with the PRIs of Harinagar and Swadeshnagar areas to discuss fisheries-related issues and development opportunities. The meeting was attended by Shri J.P. Tiwari, Assistant Engineer, Shri Tapan Kumar Biswas, Assistant Director, Fisheries, PRI Members, Fish farmers, fishermen and local villagers.
According to information, on behalf of the PRIs, Shri Manojit Halder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, placed several genuine and pressing demands, which included construction of Cold Storage facilities, distribution of freshwater fish seeds from the mainland, adequate supply of fishing equipment to local fishermen, desiltation of fish ponds for better productivity etc.
Director Smti. Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra listened attentively to the concerns raised and reportedly assured the attendees that she would reportedly make every effort to fulfill the demands placed by the community.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Dilip Kumar Das, Panchayat Samiti Member (PSM), GP Harinagar, the source said.
