Sri Vijaya Puram, Jun 16: Bengal Sun Solar Energy (BENSUN) has started its Solar Awareness Campaign under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, beginning from the DC Office, South Andaman. The first session was conducted for staff from the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner offices.
A detailed presentation titled “Let the Sun Power Our Paradise” was shown, focusing on the benefits of rooftop solar in the Andaman Islands. The presentation highlighted how switching to solar can reduce diesel dependency and protect the island’s fragile environment. Testimonials from successful installations were also shared.
The session covered important topics like the installation process, government subsidy, registration steps, and loan options under the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
BENSUN also mentioned that it is planning to hold public registration camps soon, where residents will be able to apply for subsidized rooftop solar systems. For a free home feasibility survey, interested people can contact 8900963781.
