Sri Vijaya Puram, Jun 16: A Mock Drill will be conducted on 19.06.2025 at 6:00 PM as part of routine Civil Defence preparedness measures to assess and enhance emergency response capabilities the objectives of the drill are to test the operational readiness of all authorized sirens and to promote public preparedness for blackout procedures upon siren activation. The siren will sound from 6:00 PM to 6:05 PM, during which all residents are advised to switch off operational light-emitting electrical appliances, including inverters, for 10 minutes. This is intended to simulate blackout conditions. At 6:10 PM, a second siren will sound for 1 minute to signal the end of the drill, after which normal activities may resume. This exercise aims to familiarize both emergency response personnel and the general public with standard response protocols during emergencies. All concerned are requested to cooperate and ensure active participation, as per a press release from the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman.
