Sri Vijaya Puram, Jun 13: In a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure in South Andaman, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has allotted one hectare of land at Manglutan village, South Andaman for construction of Zilla Parishad Vivekanada Kendra Vidyalaya (ZPVKV).
This development marks the long cherished aspiration of the current Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr. Prakash Adhikari who has been pursuing the establishment of a VKV school in the region since his earlier tenure in 2005. The current Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has also played a key role in this initiative, consistently advocating for the project and corresponding with the Administration over the years.
The setting a part of the land is the first formal milestone towards establishing the VKV school, which is poised to provide quality education to the students from Manglutan and neighbouring villages including Guptapara, Wandoor, Sippighat and even the Municipal area of Garacharama from where students can reach the School in 15 minutes.
The instant allotment of land by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman will address the educational need of the rural area contributing to the Socio-educational development in the years to come.
Further steps towards construction of the school will be taken in due course.
