Sri Vijaya Puram, June 4: The Ministry of Labour & Employment launched the e-Shram portal on 26th August, 2021 for the creation of a comprehensive National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW), seeded with Aadhaar. At the time of the launch, the Ministry had also announced accidental risk coverage (in case of accidental death or partial/permanent disability) for all e-Shram registrants for the first year.
Accordingly, the Ministry developed an e-Shram Ex-Gratia Module to facilitate the submission and settlement of claims by eligible registrants through an ex-gratia mechanism. As per the provisions of the module, District Magistrates are designated as the approving authority for such claims.
The Ministry has now extended the timeline for submission of claim settlement under e-Shram portal till 30th June, 2025.
All concerned individuals who are registered on the e-Shram portal or their nominees—who have suffered an accidental death or partial/permanent disability on or before 31st March, 2022 and have not yet submitted their claims have been requested to approach the Facilitation Centre, O/o ANBOCW Welfare Board, Labour Department, Supply Line, Sri Vijaya Puram (Phone No: 8900901130) along with requisite documents to file their claims through the designated portal. All stakeholders have been advised to avail themselves of this opportunity before the expiry of the extended time limit.
