Sri Vijaya Puram, May 26: The Andaman & Nicobar Football Association (ANFA) has issued a formal statement to dispel misinformation circulating regarding its leadership. In an official communication signed by Honorary Secretary Mr. Sanjay Meshack, the association has firmly declared that Mr. Tahir Ali is the President of ANFA and Mr. Sanjay Meshack himself is the duly appointed Honorary Secretary.
ANFA, which is registered under No. 698/1989 and is affiliated to the All India Football Federation (AIFF), is the only recognized football association representing the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The association has raised concerns over attempts by certain individuals to falsely project themselves as the President and Secretary of ANFA. Terming such actions as “false propaganda,” the official notice warns that this misrepresentation is an effort to malign the reputation of the legitimate governing body of football in the Islands.
The association urges all stakeholders, football enthusiasts, and media houses to verify any claims regarding ANFA through its official office, located at No.12, Savio Market, Brichgunj Chowk, Prothrapur, Sri Vijaya Puram-744103. The statement was also forwarded to the Director of Sports, Netaji Stadium, and Chief Editors of all media houses to ensure transparency and prevent the spread of misinformation.
“This clarification is necessary to protect the integrity of ANFA and its future plans for football development in the region,” the letter reads.
