Pre-Kharif Support: Agriculture Dept. Begins Subsidized MoP Distribution Across A&N Islands
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: In the interest of public service and to ensure effective Pre-Kharif preparedness, the Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration has initiated extensive activities including distribution of agricultural inputs through the Agriculture Sub-Depots to support the farming community.
As part of this initiative, it is hereby informed that Muriate of Potash (MoP) is readily available in sufficient quantity at all Agriculture Sub-Depots in all the zones. The MoP is being provided to farmers at a subsidized rate of ₹ 627.50 per 50 Kg bag (inclusive of 5% GST).
All farmers, farming communities, and stakeholders in Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been advised to procure the required quantity of MoP for the upcoming Kharif season on or before 7th June, 2025 from their nearest Agriculture Sub-Depot.
To facilitate the timely distribution and easy access, the Sub-Depots will remain open for four days a week- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday w.e. f. 19th May to 7th June, 2025.
