Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder has formally addressed a pressing concern to the Executive Director of the NHIDCL, urging immediate repair and maintenance of the newly constructed RCC Bridge at Sippighat, South Andaman.
In his letter, Mr. Halder has brought to light the alarming condition of the bridge, which, despite being recently completed, is already exhibiting signs of structural distress. Reported issues include the appearance of cracks, potholes, water seepage, and an uneven surface – all of which compromise the safety and durability of the structure.
Mr. Halder further stated that the bridge is a vital link for the residents of South Andaman and plays a critical role in local transportation and daily commuting. Any further deterioration could not only endanger lives but also severely affect connectivity and mobility in the area.
Highlighting the importance of timely action, he has requested the Executive Director of NHIDCL to initiate an immediate inspection of the site and undertake the necessary repair and maintenance works without delay.
