Port Blair, Apr 5: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC was on a tour to Little Andaman on 1st April, 2013. During his tour he also attended a meeting with the Industrial workers of ANI Forest and Plantation Development Corporation Ltd. Former employee of the Corporation Mr. Basudevan Nair on behalf of the workers has requested the PCC Chief to get merger of these employees to any other Govt. department in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and get them pay scale.
He has also placed demand before Mr. Sharma to initiate action to provide street lights at Balu Tikry, Krishna Nallah, Lal Tikry and Didu Banji areas where the workers are facing acute problem during night hours.
Mr. Sharma informed them that he has already spoken to the Lt Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, CMD Dr. Shashi Kumar and Vice President of AICC Mr. Rahul Gandhi about the pathetic condition of the workers of ANIFDCL and hopes to get suitable action. In the matter of providing street lights at the demanded areas, Mr.Sharma assured to take up the issue with the Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Kumar and since the officer is always positive for the welfare of the workers, he hopes positive action from him.
Mr. Sharma has also informed them that he has initiated action with the Administrator and the Vice President AICC for allowing special status for the Ranchi Communities of these Islands.
