
Port Blair, Feb 19: Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Chairperson, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) along with Shri Sandeep Jain, Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation and members/officials of the Board called on Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. The team made a presentation to discuss development of Natural Gas infrastructure in A&N Islands in the presence of Chief Secretary (i/c) and senior officers of Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The Lt. Governor was briefed on the planned future flow of resources in the Islands which would ease/facilitate domestic consumption in the LPG segment of Indian Oil Corporation and use of CNG to promote non-polluting Vehicles as well as its impact on Power generation. The status of 50 MW LNG Power Plant and other mega projects in Great Nicobar Islands were also discussed. The Lt. Governor reiterated the necessity of Indian Oil Corporation planning for adequate storage capacity in outer Islands locations, to ensure uninterrupted availability of LPG even in adverse weather conditions, when replenishment becomes difficult.
