Port Blair, Mat 17: The President of Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma who is also a social worker led a delegation and met the Director General of Police i/C Mr. Balaji Shrivastava on 14th March, 2013 and earnestly requested him to consider suitable action for the welfare and security of the Rohingya boat people ,under the provision of Law of our Country. He said that these Rohingya people had recently fled from Burma for their internal problems and are now in Andaman.
Sharma told that he could not stop him to meet the DGP seeing the homeless and helpless children, women and men who have lost their near and dear ones and are crying for help.
Sharma requested him to find out all possible ways to repatriate these Rohingya Muslims as early as possible so that they can get back to their country safely and till such time they are here, they may kindly be given all possible help with love and affection under humanitarian ground since they are not intruders. The DGP has reportedly assured for look into the matter.
