Mayabunder, Mar 17: A poetic conference of its first time was held at Mahatama Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder on 15.3.2013, under ages of “CHETANA” a Socio-Cultural Organization. Renowned poets of Andaman Nicobar Islands like Jagdish Narayan Rai, Durg Vijay Singh “Deep”, Sharada Ram, Krishna Kumar Viswendra, Rajesh Nirash, Shek Farooq Alam & Suresh Kumar participated and thrilled the overcrowding audience, i.e. students, staff and invitees.
Few students of the MGGC also participated inspired by the renowned poets. Mr. Thomson, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Rampur, Mayabunder was the Chief Guest and appreciated the “CHETANA” organization for such venture at this Rural place which will go a long way in the history of this College and Rampur Panchayat. He also lauded the efforts of Dr. R.N.Rath, Principal MGGC and President of Chetana.
