Port Blair, Mar 14: J.N.R. Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair is presently conducting a national seminar on the topic “Netaji and Contemporary Andaman Society”. The seminar was inaugurated today at 9:50 AM by the Chief Guest Mrs. Rina Ray, IAS, Principal Secretary (Higher Education), Andaman and Nicobar Administration. The Guest of Honor on the occasion was Prof. Chitra Ghosh, Netaji Institute for Asian Studies, Kolkata.
The programme started with an welcome song presented by students of JNRM.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Iqbal Ahmad, Principal JNRM after which Prof Mamta Desai, Netaji Institute of Asian Studies delivered a lecture on Netaji’s life with his uncountable contributions to the society.
The key note address on the occasion was delivered by Prof. Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, Ex- Chairman, ICHR, New Delhi after which Mrs. Rina Ray delivered the Inaugural address emphasizing the need for conducting regular seminars on similar topics all over the globe.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Swapan K. Biswas, Convener, National Seminar.
