Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 15: Demonstrating exceptional efficiency and commitment, the police personnel of Police Station Campbell Bay successfully solved a theft case at Mr. Krishna Temple, Zero Point, within a matter of hours.
At approximately 0700 hours, Police Station (PS) Campbell Bay received information regarding an incident of trespass, theft and vandalism at the temple. Acting promptly, the Station House Officer of PS Campbell Bay, along with a police team, reached the scene and recorded the statement of Mr. Ganesh (41), the temple’s caretaker. Mr. Ganesh reported the theft of several items from the temple. The temple premises also showed signs of vandalism, with scattered and damaged items adding to the gravity of the incident. Based on the caretaker’s complaint, a case was registered under FIR No. 56/2024 U/s 331(4)/305(a)(d)/324(2) BNS 2023.
Under the guidance of SI V.K. Maurya, I/c SHO PS Campbell Bay and overall supervision of Sh. Aditya Kumar, SDPO Campbell Bay, with strategic direction from Sh. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, a meticulous investigation was launched. The police team conducted spot inspections, recorded witness statements and analyzed CCTV footage from nearby establishments.
Through their diligent efforts, the stolen items were recovered. Crucial evidence including CCTV footage, identified the suspect as a laborer residing in a barrack near SBI Bank, Campbell Bay. The evidence recovered from the scene of crime and CCTV footage linked him conclusively to the crime.
During interrogation, Vinod Sah, originally from mainland and currently residing at Zero Point, Campbell Bay, confessed to the crime, attributing his actions to the influence of alcohol and leading to the recovery of the stolen items. He was arrested for committing the above offence and produced before the Court.
The successful resolution of this case within 6 hours highlights the swift action and dedication of Campbell Bay Police. Their prompt efforts ensure public safety and reinforce trust in the police force.
