Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 05: Hope Foundation and Usha International are working together since February 2022 to empower women by providing them silai training along with free sewing machines. They have already completed two training programs with 15 trainees in each batch.
Today, they have started a new batch in Little Andaman with 15 fresh, needy women.
The initiative aims to empower underprivileged women by equipping them with essential sewing skills to become self-reliant and financially independent.
This intensive training program is designed to teach participants practical tailoring skills, stitching techniques, and garment-making basics. In addition, the women will receive guidance on entrepreneurial strategies to help them start their own small businesses or secure sustainable employment opportunities
The initiative underscores Hope Foundation’s commitment to community development and women’s empowerment while leveraging Usha International’s legacy in skill-building and livelihood promotion. Together, the organizations are working towards creating a self-reliant and empowered society
Chief guest of the occasion was Shri S. Parmanathan (Pramukh) while the special guest of the occasion was Shri. Bellazer ( BDO). Some other guests like Shri.Andrew Moses (First captain) Herminder bay village, Shri. Festus (Secretary Tribal Council) Harminder Bay, Shri. Saket Naskar (Regional Manager Usha International), Smti. Kulsum Bibi (Treasurer Hope Foundation) , Shri. Vijay (Deputy Pradhan) Hutbay Gram Panchayat and Mukhya Sevika ICDS Hutbay unit also witnessed the event.
