Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 30: The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC visited Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) from 29 to 30 Oct 24. Upon arrival at Port Blair, he was received by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN).
The CDS reviewed preparedness of ANC in defending ANI in a Table Top Exercise which included sub conventional warfare.
Later in the evening, General Anil Chauhan celebrated Diwali with Joint Services troops and their families. He interacted with Joint Service troops and their families and during his interaction he praised the dedication and unwavering commitment of ANC personnel in safeguarding national interests and extended his warm Diwali wishes.
On 30 Oct 2024, the CDS also visited Sankalp Smarak, the location of Netaji’s historic arrival on 29 Dec 1943. At the Sankalp Smarak, he paid solemn homage to honour the sacrifices of soldiers of the Indian National Army. The CDS thereafter returned back to Delhi.
